Boys Player Evaluations 01/21/23 & 01/22/23

Boys Junior (Grades 5th and 6th) and Senior (Grades 7th and 8th) Divisions will hold their Player Evaluations at the Connecticut Sportsplex in North Branford the weekend of January 21st. 

There are two sessions on Saturday the 21st, (5th & 6th graders only), should arrive by 7:15 AM and should conclude by 8:30 AM.(7th & 8th graders only) should arrive by 8:30 AM and should conclude by 9:45 AM.

There are two sessions on Sunday the 22nd, (5th & 6th graders only), should arrive by 5:15 PM and should conclude by 6:30 PM.(7th & 8th graders only) should arrive by 6:30 PM and should conclude by 7:45 PM.

For New Families of GYLA and current players, Evaluations are used to determine player STRENGTHS and NEEDS for the upcoming season. The Evaluations are conducted by Yale University LAX coaches and will concentrate on the fundamental skills of lacrosse (Cradling, Passing, Catching, Shooting, and Groundballs) as well as Individual and Team concepts. We have recently updated our Program Description and Guidelines, which includes the USA Lacrosse criteria, information can be found here LINK.  

All 5th - 8th graders are required to attend at least one of the two Evaluation sessions. [Attendance is only required for one session.] If your player is unable to attend either session, your player will be placed on a team by the league based on availability.

a.     Spring Registration is required to participate in Evaluations.

b.     Please arrive early enough to get dressed prior to entering the Sportsplex facility (evaluation jersey will be provided).
